Our Team

Robert co-founded Steadfast and has over 52 years’ experience in the insurance industry. He was voted the second most influential person in insurance by Insurance News, and was awarded the ACORD Rainmaker Award in 2014. Robert is a Qualified Practising Insurance Broker, a Fellow of NIBA, a Senior Associate of ANZIIF, a Certified Insurance Professional, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is the Chair of the ACORD Board in New York. Robert is also a Director of ASX-listed Johns Lyng Group Limited and not-for-profit organisation KidsXpress.

Stephen joined Steadfast in 2013 and has over 30 years’ experience as a Chartered Accountant and extensive experience in acquisitions, integration of networks and developing businesses. As Managing Director of Moore Stephens Sydney for 10 years and Chair of Moore Stephens Australasia for three, Stephen played a key role in placing Moore Stephens into the top 10 accounting firms in Australia. Stephen is a Fellow of Australia and New Zealand Chartered Accountants.

John joined Steadfast in 2012 and is joint lead of the Operations and Acquisitions team. Having completed his professional accounting training with KPMG in 1996, John has spent over 15 years working within the insurance industry. During this time he has held a number of senior finance and operational roles in both North America and Australia specialising in corporate transactions. John is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ireland.

Darren has 40 years industry experience across a varied range from underwriting, management and insurance broking. Darren holds a Diploma Insurance Broking.

Having commenced his career with a National Insurer, he then moved into an underwriting management role for a multi-national Insurer, tasked with establishing and servicing a network of insurance brokers .

He became a shareholder/director in 1998 and has played a major hand in shaping QIB Group to what it is today.

Duncan joined Steadfast in June 2014 after 20 years at QBE where he was Group General Counsel and Company Secretary. Duncan’s career commenced in 1986 with Freehills in Sydney. He holds degrees in commerce and law, and a graduate certificate in applied risk management. Duncan is a Fellow of ANZIIF and the Governance Institute of Australia, as well as a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Adrian commenced his career in the defence sector, moving to Financial Services in 1999 where he was Head of Sales and Marketing at KPMG Financial Services. Adrian moved into insurance in 2005 as Director of Account Development for Aon UK, before joining Lloyd’s in 2009. Relocating to Australia in 2010, as Managing Director, Lloyd’s Australia.

In January 2015 Adrian joined the Steadfast group as Executive General Manager Broker Performance. Within this remit, Adrian also assumed the position of CEO of several of Steadfast broking subsidiaries.

Adrian joined the QIB Group as Chief Commercial Officer in January 2022, responsible for commercial strategy. In March 2025 Adrian assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer, taking over from Tim Mathieson to lead the strategic vision and growth aspirations of the group.

Maria has over 36 years of experience in the insurance broking industry. Maria worked at Austcover for 34 years, rising through the ranks to become CEO during that time.

Maria has significant expertise in compliance functions within the financial services sector, is a Qualified Practising Insurance Broker, a Fellow of NIBA and a Senior Associate of ANZIIF. She holds a Graduate Diploma of Financial Services and in 2016 was named NIBA Student of the Year.

In 2018 Maria was also awarded the prestigious Broker of the Year Award at the Insurance Business Awards.

In 2002 Gregg obtained a Bachelor of Business, majoring in accountancy, before joining Price Waterhouse Coopers’ Audit division where he worked across a number of Financial services clients.

After completing his professional qualification and becoming a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Gregg became the Financial controller of a brokerage in 2007. He later held CFO & General Manager roles and now has over 16 years of insurance broking industry experience.

With over 32 years insurance industry experience Craig has developed strong leadership and professional skills in Strategy, Business Planning, Operations Management, Sales and Relationship Management, and Franchise Management.​ Prior to joining QIB Craig held National a State leadership roles with QBE, Elders Insurance, MY Freemans Loss Adjusters and NTI.
Craig has obtained a Business Certificate in Corporate Management.

Spanning a career of over 27 years, Steven started his IT profession with a local business, expanding it into a global company and becoming certified in many areas such as MCSE, CCSA, CCSE, ITIL to list a few.

Steven was formerly the Global Infrastructure and Security Manager across more then 20 countries for an ASX200 company before joining Austcover, which later merged into QIB Group. His particular area of knowledge is IT infrastructure and Security, a vital part of providing peace of mind for clients when it comes to insurance matters.

Tim has 25 years’ industry experience – starting as a graduate with QBE Insurance in 1998 and eventually joining the executive team of an ASX200 company in Sydney.

Tim was formerly Head of Broker Network at Steadfast Group, the largest general insurance broker network in Australasia. He previously worked with insurers and underwriting agencies across Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. He holds an MBA, Master of Risk Management, and Bachelor of Commerce. He is a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).
